The Vagrancy Act - which criminalises homelessness - is set to be scrapped
Our response
The Vagrancy Act, which criminalises homelessness, is finally being scrapped.
At long last, the government recognises that people who are homeless should be helped, not treated as criminals.
Now, the government must focus on providing long-term investment in support services for people who are already homeless. It must also address the rising the cost of living and unaffordable housing that threatens to leave many more without a home.
